Biography
Indira Gandhi was the first and only female Prime Minister of India. She served from 1966 to 1977 and again from 1980 until her assassination in 1984. She was the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru.
Obituary
Indira Gandhi was assassinated on October 31, 1984, by her Sikh bodyguards in response to Operation Blue Star. Her death led to anti-Sikh riots across India.
